1) DA: The Inquisitor is not the Herald of Andraste - I'm told that the inquisitor/herald are they same person, and I've been asked to check if the nominator means that the player character doesn't become that person, or if they mean something else entirely? If I don't hear from the nominator by 08:00 UTC tomorrow, Sunday 1 July, I'll leave it in but there may be some confused potential offerers who would like clarification!

2) X-Men - All Media Types - nominator, could you please specify which X-Men you want? If this isn't amended (or you leave a comment) by 18:30 today, Sunday 1 July, I'll reject. - FIXED, rejected, but added Logan/Remy to Wolverine (Movies) and X-Men (Comicverse).

3) ALL: Character's LI is actually a tentacle monster - I think I'm missing something blindingly obvious here, but what does "LI" stand for? I'm assuming "Love Interest", and will edit to that if I don't hear otherwise by 08:00 tomorrow, Monday 2 July. - FIXED, changed "LI" to "love interest".

4) Crossover: Kara grew up in Marvel Earth - nominator, is that Arrowverse Kara Danvers or someone else? If I don't hear from you by 08:00 UTC tomorrow, Monday 2 July, I'll assume Kara from the Arrowverse and amend accordingly. - FIXED, changed to "Supergirl".

In your Considering section:

For 5), I would take those two to mean the same thing and, IMHO, since Firefly AU/Fusion was removed as Firefly AU was already approved, on that basis, it would make sense to me for Leverage AU to be approved and Leverage Fusion removed.

Also, for 2), googling Role Swap brings up mostly results for the phrase Role Reversal, so unless I'm missing something they are in fact the same thing :)

I somehow managed to put several of my fandom nominations into "uncategorized." I am not familiar with tag sets, is there any way to move them into Books?

1. Cainsville – Kelley Armstrong
2. Kate Daniels – Ilona Andrews
I just checked and those are the fandom tags on the Books & Literature page, so I'm not sure why AO3 put them into Uncategorized.

3. Hidden Legacy – Ilona Andrews
I should have put "Series" after Legacy, which is probably why it's in Uncategorized instead.

Immortal Character Is Temporarily Mortal

I nominated Immortal Character Is Temporarily Mortal, and I totally understand if there are not enough canons with immortal characters for it to count as a general au, but my thinking was an au where immortality has been cured/does not apply and the plot revolves how the immortal character deals with their temporary mortality.

Thanks for the reply! The issue I have with this tag isn't that not enough immortal characters exist, it's more that it sounds like a trope rather than an AU.

Would something like "ALL: Canon immortal characters can become temporarily mortal" or something similar work for you?

These don't seem very different:

I can see slight differences though, so maybe that's fine.

I've had a ponder on the three time travelling ones myself and I think they're probably just about different enough in nuance that they don't need merging.

The mermaids and merpeople ones - I'll add a query! I'm not sure if these are the same or not, personally.

Mermaids is female, merpeople is both genders. I nominated merpeople but didn't even look to see if mermaids was there or not.

I don't know if there is a case for mermaid that isn't a merperson other than familiarity of terminology. In short, I think they are duplicates. Not sure which should win though and I'm good with whatever you decide.

That's the problem, I think - the terminology is just different enough that I'm not sure which should go, if either! Mermaids could be interpreted as only mermaids, and merpeople could lead to everyone being a merperson though the recipient might not actually want that. For that reason, I think I'm going to keep both.

I'm not the prompter, but for MCU: Identity Porn, that's a well-known trope in the Marvel comics fandom and I've seen it used for MCU AUs before. If it's confusing, it could maybe be reworded as Secret Identity AU.

Unfortunately, I'm stuck at the point where Identity Porn being a well-known trope doesn't make it actually an AU, I'm sorry to say!

That being said, I've sorted it out with the nominator. It's being accepted as All: Character has a secret identity.

Well, it's a trope in comics, but it would be an AU in the MCU. What it's specifically referring to is any shenanigans developing from the fact that in early comics, Tony Stark was pretending not to be Iron Man, so people will write fun love triangle things with Iron Man, Tony, and Steve Rogers. In the MCU, Tony never had a secret identity, so using Identity Porn in the MCU would be an AU.

Seconding this, I think the DCEU and MCU tags with identity porn should get allowed as they are AUs for those fandoms.

Oviposition, for example, is also a trope, but requesting it for canons without canonical oviposition (as the norm) makes it also becoming an AU. I don't see the logic in allowing many tropes worded as AUs and rejecting identity porn/secret identity.

If there were a way to reword "identity porn" to be an AU for a majority of canons, without it being ambiguous, I would be happy with that, too! After discussing with the nominator, this was accepted as All: Character has a secret identity.

I'm sorry but I don't agree, mostly because the "identity porn" trope doesn't only apply to Tony and it doesn't unambiguously mean a triangle between Iron Man, Tony and Steve. The nominator seems happy enough with All: Character has a secret identity and I'm not adding identity porn in.

Also, I'm fine with canon-divergent AUs - if someone had wanted to nominate "MCU: Tony does not tell anyone he's Iron Man" or "MCU: No one knows Steve Rogers is Captain America" or something in that vein, I would have approved it (and indeed I'm still willing to add it in until the end of Tuesday!). It just needs to be more specific and less of a general trope than just "MCU: Identity Porn".
